Två av samlingens föremål förefaller vara, enligt, orginalhandlingarna, insamlade av den framstående finske etnografen-religionshistorikern-(syd-)amerikanisten Rafael Karsten (1879-1956), se i museets bibliotek Acta Americana, vol. 1, Nr. 2, 1993 (specialnummer om Rafael Karsten) liksom även Rafael Karstens egna publikationer. Maggie (Karsten-)Sveander, dotter till Rafael Karsten, har varit engagerad i Svenska Amerikanistsällskapet, utgivare av Acta Americana, och Maggie Sveander har författat en biografi om fadern i ovan nämnda Acta Americana-publikation. Dennna samling, typiskt nog från nordvästra Sydamerika, kompletterar museets andra Karsten-samlingar, 1958.10; 1958.11; och 1960.11. SB, 2010-12-15.

There are two objects in the collection that seem to be, according to original documents related to the collection, collected by the prominent Finnish ethnographer-historian of religions- (South-)americanist Rafael Karsten, see in the museum library Acta Americana, vol. 1, Nr. 2, 1993 (special issue about Rafael Karsten); see also Rafael Karstens own publications. Maggie (Karsten-)Sveander, daughter to Rafael Karsten, has been engaged in Svenska Amerikanistsällskapet (Swedish Americanist Society), publisher of its journal Acta Americana, and Maggie Sveander has written a biography about her father in the said Acta Americana-publikation. This collection, typically enough from
northwestern South America, is an addition to opther Karsten-collections in the museum, see 1958.10; 1958.11; and 1960.11. See also correspondence in the museum archive. SB, 2010-12-14.
