Cleaning and conservation report. D-nr 16455013. 950108. Condition and corrosion: dirty with soil - sand, clay. Underneath are unevenly distributed several corrosion layers, all hard, grainy. Color varies from light blue/green till dark green and brown. Corrosion has chipped off in some spots, revealing metallic surface, covered with bright yellow powder (the same as on MM Lur 18). There are signs of active corrosion. Hole drilled to take sample for metallographic analysis. Treatment see MM Lur 2: cleaned mechanically with scalpel, small soft rotating bristle and steel brushes, under magnification. Active corrosion spots partially excavated to original surface layer, stabilised in 3 % benzotriazole solution in ethanol for 48 hours. Rinsed in 95 % ethanol, dried. Protective coating of 10 % Paraloid B 72 applied.
