Urn, Gravurna

Cylindrical cinerary urn with lid; moulding on top of the wall and at the bottom, between which the urn is decorated with flutes consisting of incised lines; in front a square inscription plate with a moulded frame; the lower part of the plate is covered by a garland of laurel leaves and berries (several drill holes visible) attached by a loop of taenia to the lid of a thymiaterion on either side; the thymateria have a fairly high moulded foot, body tapering towards the wide mouth and a moulded lid with a top knob; the lid is conical and covered with curved flutes; a moulding below the flutes curves inwards to meet the top of the casket; the top knob of the lid is conical with a rounded top button.
