Letter sent from a certain Nergal-mushallim to his father. Previously, the father had written to his son concerning some bulls. Referring to that letter the son informs his father that the bulls will be sent. Translation: “To my father say: Thus (says) Nergal-Mushallim: Shamash and Marduk for my sake may eternally give my father life! Concerning what my father has written Thus my father:One three-years-old bull, of which you spoke, send and two three-years-old bulls add, then, for two three-years-old bulls I will give you money, On which my father wrote to me. (As to) the cattle, which I have bought, the money has fallen, and then to the money they have adapted (it). As to the elders, 120 cattle the money for which is the purchase money, which I have given, they will receive. 10 minas of silver from the house of the banker I have borrowed for them and then given to them.
Since the 15th day they are in Babylon. The cattle, the bulls which I shall take, until the 3rd day will be redeemed. This cattle will arrive, yea, it has arrived.
(i.e.) the cattle, the bulls of which I shall take. One fine three-year-old bull, of which I spoke to my father, and two fine three-year-old bulls for money I shall take, and then before my father I shall go.
Until this third day my father may wait. It will not be difficult for me.”
