For periods during almost ten years Eva Evers Rosander, social anthropologist, was working in northern Marocko on a research project about Muslim women and social change. In her participation studies she came to be close to the individuals and their every-day life. In 1979-80 she did collection and documentation work for the museum, mirroring the culture of women. Eva Evers Rosander studied the encounter between modern and traditional handicraft. She also focused on differences between life in the city and rural living.
Evers Rosander became very familiar with the locality where she was working. The individuals she studied were not just her informants, they often became her friends. By way of her documentation we know a lot about the objects she collected, and we also know something about the circumstances in which they were collected. In the documentation made by Eva Evers Rosander the informants are identifiable by name.
