Hemmets mittpunkt var ”Blå salongen” där familjen samlades varje dag för eftermiddagste i engelsk stil och där Gustaf Adolf gärna fördjupade sig i litteratur om exempelvis kinesisk konsthistoria på sina lediga stunder. De senaste tidskrifterna och böckerna fanns lättåtkomliga på ett generöst bord. I salongen fanns många konstskatter – som svenskt samtida måleri och det berömda huvudet från Song-dynastin.

The home’s centrepiece was the “Blue Salon”, where the family gathered every day for af- ternoon tea in the English style, and where Gustaf Adolf loved to dig into literature on such topics as Chinese art history during his unencumbered moments. The latest periodicals and books were freely available on a large table. The Salon housed many artistic treasures, such as Swedish contemporary art and the famous Song dynasty head. Repro photo:

När Gustaf Adolf blev kung 1950 fanns samlingarna utställda i hela våningen. I montrar, fönsternischer, på bord och byråer fanns arrangemang med kinesisk keramik och föremål av lack, brons och jade.
