This has a close relative in gold from Vouni (SCE) now lost. Very similar, possibly by same hand, silver ones dated to the last quarter 5th -early 4th cent (Amandry pls. 19, 23). Indented hoops have an Achaemenid character. Similar terminals on a bracelet in a relief from the time of Assurnasirpal II, 883-859 at Nimrud. The Persian preference for design over nature can be seen in the fully rendered animal heads. Achaemenid's dependence on foreign artists may indicate that western Persia had not recovered from some setback in Late 6 cent BC (Moorey).
