O3b4 April the 27th 1929 George Eumorfopoluos Esa. 7 Chelsea Embankment London SS, W, 3 Dear Mr. Bumorfopolues, I have to acknowledge with profound gratitude the receit of the first volume of the bronzes in your cathalogue. We have very RR much admired the su ärb quality of this admirable publication. I have suggested to Professor Karlgren, the Gothenbourgh sinologue that we will write a review of this volume conjointly, he dealing with the in- scriptions and I with the objects. I will write to Mr Yetts to tnis effect. I now want to ask your stolötly confindential advice con- cerning a problem which of late has become very important to us. Mr R. Hultmark a friend and supporter of this institube has bought from Yamanaka the two big Wei horses which were exhibited in Berlin, Catalogue-number 278, and he has very kindly deposited tihem in this museum. Very unfortunately he did not consult us before making the arrangement with Yamanaka, otherwise I would have told him about the doubts expressed by Vignier. When I first saw the horses in Berlin I was very mucBk Struck by their size and beauty and felt rather anxious to have the opinion of conoisseurs,. When I came back to Berlin late in March I met Vignier in the exhibition, With usual vigour he expressed his very positive
