They represent the worlåfamous firm of Yemanake & Co. wnieh has branch offices in a& number of American and European cities. The group who has been received in audience by the -Crown- Prince is headed by Mr, S. Yamaneka from Osaka, the head of the firm. The other gentlemen are T. Okada, chief of the London branch, Tanaka, chief of the New York braneh and Takatawho represents the firm in Pe- king. An international combination. At an interview penne ARA Mr. Okada was the spokesman., He spoke fluent but then he has lived in London for 25 years, For many years we have the honour of the aecquaintence of the Crown-Prince., He has been very popular with us ever snee his visit to Japan a few years ago. Ve appreciate him not only on account of his charming personality. He is famous as an expert on East Asia- tic antiquities. His fame is based on a deep insight into and & great love for this branch of seience. He has shown us his privat collec- tion which is of very high quality. During our very short stay here Mr. Orvar Karlbeck has shown us the Museum of Far Eastern Antiqulb&ies which is in charge of professor Andersson. - The collections of ceramics and bronzes are particularly good. We have also visited other interesting museums. The Nordic Museum in particular had plenty to teach us - there Swedish history was shown us in a most convincing manner.Stäng

0268 Re Skansen was perhaps the most interesting of all the Museums dealing with matters we had sot come to study. I must tell you that Mr. Yamenaka has concelved the idea of creating something similar in Japan with a view to saving as much as possible of the old cultural objects of Japan and to preserve them in their propre environments. The Skansen of Japan ought to be located in Tokyo. It is a very brilliant idea, Let us hope that it will materialize. We ctontinué our journey on Saturday morning and intend to visit Berlin, Cologne, Rome and Pompej amongst other places. We only hope to revisit Sweden in the Summer.Stäng
