Dear Professor Andersson, We have now had an opportunity of examining your book, "DEN GULA JORDENS BARN", and of making a rough estimate of the cost of produectien..: MWe are, of Course; well aware of the importance of the work, and shall hope to sell it reasonably well even at the present time of acute financial depression. We suggest. that, if you grant us the English and American rights, we pay you a royalty of 524 on the first 500 copies; increased to 104 on the next 500 copies; increased to 1234 on all sales after 1000; with an advance of £50. This would cover the English sales. With reference to America, we shall, in all probability, sell an edition in sheets. It would be too expensive for them to set the book up separately, in view of the complicated nature of the work. As you are probably aware, sheet sales to America are made at between a third and a quarter of the-English selling price, which in this case would probably be about 25/- net. We suggest a royalty on the American sales of 1/- a copy, with an advance on the first 500 American copies, when an edition is sold. If any details in this letter are ohbscure, will you please be good enough to let us know. If, however, the terms seem to you acceptable, we will prepare an& agreement to cover them, and send it to you for your > signature. :
