Chinese rhinoceros wine cup. Period: 17th century. Description: Large cup of dark amber-coloured horn, in shape of parrot with finely carved wings, tail and feet. Head forming the handle. Inside two small birds i high relief. Hollow foot. Under the handle, at base, a white-spotted deer, between feet a bear. Measures: H. 110mm L. at lip 203 mm; at base 60mm. Purchased: In London at Sotheby’s, 1965. Bequest of H.M. King Gustaf VI Adolf. No 2426.
