Five fragments of a celadon cup with a pointed base, decorated with inlaid white slip designs. The lower part of the cup bears a petal-shaped design, probably representing a chrysanthemum flower. The upper part is decorated with a scroll design. A band of key-fret patter (Korean: beongaemuni - "thunder"-pattern) encircles the cup below the rim. The interior is undecorated and has a circular, deep indentation at the center of the well. The cup is coated with a crackled, greenish-tinged glaze which fired a yellowish color. Parts from three clay pads that supported the cup during firing adhere to the lower section of the cup.

This cup is probably a kiln waster - piece of ceramic that did not fire successfully. Sherds of this kind, which are usually found at kiln sites and the surrounding areas, are valuable for art historical and archaeological research. Sherds do not only reveal information about the production process, techniques and materials used and the types of ceramics produced at specific kiln sites, but they also serve as important indicators for tracing back ceramic objects to their sites of production. Hence, sherds help to date and to understand the historical, social and cultural contexts of ceramic objects.

끝이 뾰족한 '팽이형 잔'의 파편 다섯 점이다. 바깥면에는 무늬를 백상감하였는데, 잔 아랫부분을 장식한 꽃잎 무늬는 국화를 연상시킨다. 그 위로는 넝쿨 무늬를 시문하고 입구 바로 아래에 번개 무늬 띠를 돌렸다. 안쪽 면은 장식이 없고 바닥 중앙에 오목한 원각이 있다. 녹색의 청자 유약을 시유했으나 산화되어 황색을 띤다. 세 개의 내화토 빚음 흔적이 잔 아랫 부분에서 확인된다.

이 파편은 폐기된 불량품 도자기의 일부로 추정된다. 이러한 종류의 파편은 주로 가마터나 그 주변부에서 발견되며 미술사적, 고고학적 연구를 위한 자료로써 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 파편을 통해 특정 가마에서 사용한 제작 기법과 재료, 생산한 도자기 종류를 알 수 있을 뿐 아니라 그를 바탕으로 유물의 산지(産地)를 추적할 수 있다. 더 나아가 제작연대를 추정하고 그 도자 유물이 사용된 역사적, 사회문화적 배경을 이해하는 것이 가능하다.
