Bearded man with high hat of Persian type, one eye and part of a nostril and mouth remaining. Hair and beard of Persian type.
The fragment depicts part of a male head in less than life size; on the head the man wears a tiara; his hair is curly as is his beard; he is looking left, with a large well-modelled eye depicted from the front; only a small part of the nose and the mouth is left; despite the fragmentary state of the face one detects a serene expression. Grey limestone.

It has been thought to belong to the procession on the staircase to the apadana (audience hall) but Michael Roaf doubted it in his reconstruction in the journal Iran.Michael Roaf could not place the fragment anywhere.
Marked “G VI A 53” (from the Royal Collections) on the back. On the front side is another number of unknown origin, “P.T.2 513.
