1916.9.72 Name and identification of character The drummer's wife, Nonchi. Context The episode of the drummer, Anabera Kolama (Sin.). Material Wood, vel-kaduru (Sin.) (Nux vomica). Iconography Four teeth are carved at irregular intervals. The lips are prominently painted in red. Wrinkles on the forehead and along the cheeks are carved in wavy lines to reveal old age. Two different kinds of paint are noticeable on the cheeks. The face is painted in a lemon yellow or greyish colour. The ears are separately attached. The black eyebrows are raised. 2000 05 11 Dr. M.
