Iconography
The ears are flat, undecorated pieces of wood. Both rows of teeth are prominently carved, indicating a villager with protruding teeth and wide open mouth. Paint on the chin and the gums has been erased. The face is pale yellow. A glum face out of proportion.

The identification of the mask as ¿Dantoberre kolam¿ (which is phonetically incorrect), meaning a ¿drummer¿ is wrong.
