Enligt mail från Claes-Göran Lindström 2016-12-14:
”Among my belongings after my mother Miriam, born Wideberg, 1908 -1963, is a silk coat lined with Kalgan (Zhangjiakou now) fur - please see the attached photographs. The coat is a beautiful piece of Chinese-Mongolian craftsmanship and has an interesting provenience. However, since I no longer can keep it stored in my home I now hope to find a suitable receiver.
In her twenties, my mother was working as a nurse and missionary in Mongolia, spending about three years at Hat-in-Sum and Goldtjaggan missionary stations. During her service there she also met Mr. Georg Söderbom, of Swedish origin but living most of his life in Mongolia and its surrounding countries. He was among other things an assistant to the Swedish Central-Asia-explorer Sven Hedin. He was also engaged in the collection and presentation of the Buddha Temple shown at the Chicago World Exhibition in 1933. It so happened that my mother got engaged to be married to Mr. Söderbom and it is my understanding that this silk/Kalgan fur coat was a gift to my mother from her fiancé.
In 1933, my mother got ill with double-sided pneumonia and returned to Sweden, most likely to be allowed to die at home. Against all odds, she recovered, but she never got back to Mongolia. The engagement to Mr. Söderbom faded out and some years later my mother married the man who became my father, Mr. John Lindström.
My mother died in 1963. I have kept her silk/fur coat as a souvenir from her youth. It has been properly stored through the years and is in mint condition. My mother wore the coat very rarely when back in Sweden and my wife has used it once at a formal dinner."
