I have been awfully neglectful in not replying much earlier to your kind letters of Febr, 28 and July 28 last year. Your cheque to the amount of 645,16 Swedish crowns was duly received and the amount is kept in our safe, It was my intention in April last year, shortly after having received your first letter to take a months trip to London, Paris and Germany, at which occasion I intended to buy the desired pots for you. Because of the extensive exhibitions, which we had to make for the International Congress of Art History, I was not able to make this trip. Later in the autumn and winter my health has not been quite satisfactory and for this reason the whole matter has been delayed. As I am a little uncertain when I will be able to undertake this trip to the continent, I will now write to Wannieck and Loo and ask them to send me photographs of such Kansu mortuary urns, which are at present in their possesion. At the same time I will also collect the material from our own museum in exchange for the specimens, which you have so very kindly sent to us.
