Telephones KOKUSAI BUNKA SHINKOKAI (THE SOCIETY FOR INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL RELATIONS) MARUNOUCHI, TOKYO Colo Addresy Masnorsti 9 (2888 "NTÖULTRE TOKYO” Oetober 1, 1940. Prof. Bernhard Karlgren, Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, Stockholm, Sweden. Dear Prof. karlgren: You will perhaps recall that on March 9th, I wrote to you solicting your kind cooperation by submitting a contribution for a commemorative symposium of articles in connection with the 2,600th anniversary of the founding of the Japanese Empire. Realizing no symposium of the time will be complete without some contribution from such an eminent scholar as you, may I once again be so presumptous as to repeat our request for something from you. As you will note in my previous letter, a copy of which I am enclosing for refer- ence, if it is possible, may we have your contribution before the end of the year. We realize that you are extremely busy with your many activities but we trust that you will kindly find some time to cooperate with us in making this symposium of contributions from eminent scholars and interpreters of Japan a great success. Hoping to have the pleasure of receiving an affirma- tive response from you, I remain Yours very sincerely, af Anja Matsuzo Naj Chairman, B of Directors. IN:SO ee
