Dear Professor Anderseen: I am most pleased to receive your letter of April Z4th, forwarded to me from Peiping, You will observe that our headquarter has been recently moved to Shanghai. We expect to have a permanent building to be completed in Nanking in a year's time. I remember that in 1930 I asked the kindness of Professor Siren to send to you. photograph of a& piece of painted pottery which I found in my Yin-hell excavation, I have never heard either from you or Professor Siren on that matter since, 1 have always been wandering whether that photograph has ever reached you! A considerable amount of data have been now acfumulated regarding the probable re- lationship of Yang-shao culture and Yin-hketi thru our recent works, which owe their origin chiefly to the discovery of that piece of painted pottery. Tne director of the Institute has alregdy given the permission to answer you that a set of photographe of our An-yang finde will be sent to you for the exhibition of your Museum. He also expreseed the desire that your museum may put the name rs onal Research Institute of History and Philology on your exchanging list (Bulletin for Bulletin)
