Samlingen som består av 130 sigill samt åtta andra föremål, däribland keramik från de tre kungarikenas tid (57 f.Kr–668 e.Kr) och metallföremål från Goryeo (918–1392), donerades till Östasiatiska museet 1972 av Dr Lars Erik Warfvinge (1913–1992). Warfvinge var en svensk läkare som var stationerad vid den nationella sjukvårdsinrättningen ”National Medical Center” (NMC) i Seoul mellan 1965 and 1967. NMC var ett gemensamt medicinskt projekt mellan de skandinaviska länderna, UNKRA (United Nations Korean Reconstruction Agency) och den koreanska regeringen. Det svenska bidraget till NMC bestod i att Sverige fortsatta att driva det rödakorssjukhus i Busan som varit i funktion under Koreakriget och några år efter det (1950–1958). Warfvinge byggde upp sin samling under sin tid i Korea genom inköp på den lokala marknaden, troligtvis i antikaffärer. 1996 donerade hans son, Jens Erik Warfvinge (f. 1952) ytterligare 23 föremål till den koreanska samlingen på Östasiatiska museet. Denna grupp föremål består i huvudsak av keramik samt några metallföremål från Goryeo.

These chopsticks are labelled OM-1989-0133, but this accession number was also assigned to another pair of chopsticks. It is likely that this object originally had the accession number OM-1972-0215.

A collection of 130 seals as well as eight other objects, including ceramics from the Three Kingdoms period (57 BCE–668 CE) and metal wares from the Goryeo dynasty (918–1392) were donated to the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities in 1972 by Dr Lars Erik Warfvinge (1913–1992). Warfvinge, a Swedish medical doctor, was stationed at the National Medical Center (NMC) in Seoul between 1965 and 1967. The establishment of the NMC was a joint medical project between the Scandinavian countries, the UNKRA (United Nations Korean Reconstruction Agency) and the Korean government. The Swedish contribution to the NMC was a continuation of the medical assistance provided by the Swedish government to Korea during and after the Korean War (1950–1953) that started with the setup and operation of the Swedish Red Cross Hospital in Busan (1950–1958). Warfvinge built his collection during the time he served in Korea by acquiring objects on the local market, probably through antique shops. In 1996, his son, Jens Erik Warfvinge (born 1952), donated another 23 objects to the Korean collections at the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities. This group of objects comprises a majority of ceramics and few Goryeo metal objects.

1972년에 라쉬 에릭 바르빙에 박사 (1913–1992)는 130점의 인장과 더불어 삼국시대 도자기와 고려시대에 제작된 금속 재질로 된 물건 등을 포함한 여덟 점의 유물, 총 138점을 동아시아박물관에 기증했다. 바르빙에 박사는 스웨덴인 의사로 1965년에서 1967년까지 서울에 위치한 국립중앙의료원에 파견됐다. 국립중앙의료원은 스칸디나비아의 스웨덴, 덴마크, 노르웨이 3국과 국제연합한국재건단 그리고 한국 정부가 협력하여 설치 및 운영한 공공의료원이다. 스웨덴은 한국전쟁 기간 동안 그리고 그 이후에 부산에 위치한 스웨덴 적십자 야전병원을 운영한 것의 연장선상에서 국립중앙의료원에 기여한 것이었다. 바르빙에 박사는 한국에서 근무하는 동안 지역 시장, 골동품점을 통해 유물을 수집했던 것으로 추정된다. 1996년에는 그의 아들인 옌스 에릭 바르빙에가 동 박물관의 한국 유물 컬렉션에 총 23 점의 유물을 기증했으며, 여기에는 다수의 도자기와 고려시대 금속 재질의 유물이 몇 점 포함되어 있다.
